This was my first serious attempt to build a mobile robot.
The next project will be a bigger version which will help transporting
drinks during party's at my home.
I've built the robot using some LEGO parts
and with the help of the MOBILE ROBOTS book by JONES & FLYNN
which I bought at the Robot Store.

I started a new project lately. This robot is supposed to be able to carry some dishes from and to the
kitchen when it is finished. I found some nice 2nd-hand motors with attached gears in a telescope shop (normaly
used for tracking so the telescope keeps focussed on the object in the sky while the earth is turning around).
I found some very nice wheels (finaly) at a local shop and have mounted some 2N3055 transistors for 2 H-bridges
and a powered PWM speed control on some cooling bodies (the black parts on the picture).
I have now 2x12V batteries (the motors need 24V) so I can easilly create some negative voltage's as well with some 79xx's
(and by using opto-couplers inbetween the 68HC11 and the H-bridge).
